The MDEX 3 has the ability to upgrade itself without having to physically modify its on board electronic hardware.
This is made possible via the use of an upgradable firmware program. The firmware program controllers the systems operational/Functional characteristics. Such as what actions are taken when a particular button is pressed, its digital effects and even the timing of some key features.
From time to time improvements to the systems firmware may be developed and if so, a free upgrade may be made available for down load.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Do not interrupt the power source during the upgrade. A loss of power during the upgrade process may irreparably damage the system.
You must NOT press any buttons other than the ones instructed during the upgrading process ( The "play" button at Step 3 is the only button that should be pressed)
If you are not confident in performing this upgrade then please return the product to TDJ Australia were the upgrade can be performed by trained technicians.
There is no charge for this service during the warranty period of the device. Damage caused by improper application of a firmware upgrade may not be covered under your warrenty. |
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Copy the software to a USB/SD Flash drive (use a black memory device rather than one that has other files on it)
2. Switch on the MDEX3 , select USB or SD and plug in the USB/SD card
The MDEX3 will start reading USB/SD card. The Display will indicate if the update is a later version than the current firmware in your unit
If the Update is a later ( Newer) version the display will show "UPDATE?5" If the LCD shows "00 0000" this means the firmware is up to date and therefore no up-date is required.
3 Press the "play" button within 5 seconds of the display showing you the update message to start the update (if you miss the 5 second window then repeat steps 1,2,3 from the beginning)
4. The Up-grade will start after you press play. When the display reads 100% this means the upgrade is complete.
The M DEX-3 will switch to CD mode after the completion of the upgrade.
If the LCD does not display 100% then try the process from the beginning. |
